Jack Welsh on CNBC

I awakened this morning to hear Jack Welsh on CNBC arguing for “states-rights.”  He called it central vs decentralization.  I thought this hard-shoulder toward the poor, the people of a darker-hued skin, to the elderly, to the sick, towards women, had started to be thrown-out by THIS Country in the 40s and the Supreme court in the 50s.  Without the Federal Government administering rules, passed by Congress or in the Constitution, you received benefits, you live under, and you work under rules that each little area decides.  So, if you are poor and live in a State that is poor, you will not receive the sick care you would receive in a richer State.  And on and on………..

As a Country, we have not brought “the goods” to all but at least we strive to do so.  Jack Walsh argued on CNBC this morning that the haves should have and the have-nots should not.  Hard to believe he does not think beyond his politics and realize how decentralization effects women, children, sick, elderly, business, and the “not popular.”

Such narrow thinking does nothing for the standards of living for all, not just the rich or the well-connected or the powerful.   Jack Walsh is just wrong!
